With over 1,000 of the largest GP surgeries receiving our services across the UK, we plan to rapidly expand our program during 2009. By targeting the UK’s biggest practices, our potential patient reach is enormous. Our Practice Nurses advise us that they see an average of 114 patients a week. With the average number of Nurses being 5.5 in the primary care centres that receive our services, that equates to a weekly patient reach of 627,000.
We have identified the most commonly run patient clinics across Primary Care in the UK and have developed vibrant medi-bags grouped by therapy areas to supply complimentary educational resources for healthcare professional and patients:

Our services can be used to communicate directly with healthcare professionals conducting these clinics, as well as including health promotion materials for the professionals to utilise and provide to their patients.
The clinic consultations provide the healthcare professionals and patients with more time to discuss health issues and health promotion is strongly on the agenda. This provides a perfect opportunity and environment for healthcare professionals to educate patients from a more holistic prospective as well as dealing with their specific health issues. As more time is allocated to these sessions, the patient is not rushed, which can lead to a much more comfortable and open dialogue with the medical team.
Channelling healthcare education through the healthcare professional means patients feel confident and secure at a time when they are able to further consult, so developing a deeper understanding of their healthcare concerns. Through this process, our services will act as a stimulant for patient dialogue and developing relationships, providing an enhanced overview of the patients’ overall health.
There are a huge range of resources available to healthcare professionals through the vast plethora of healthcare organisations but as Practice Nurse, Amanda Vinue at Walton Village Medical Centre corroborates, having the time and resources to seek and deal with individual organisations is simply not a realistic option for healthcare professionals, which is one of the reasons Amanda has requested Health to Hand’s medi-bag and online services on a regular basis.
